Your Name - Demo

When I was a young person, I grew up in an area with many people of Hispanic heritage, and I knew many people who were named "Jesus" (pronounced hay - soos'). As I young person who had never been to church, and never read the bible, it seemed a bit confusing to me when I heard people say the name of "Jesus" was special. With so many people having that name, how could it be special? I just didn't understand, as a young person. When I was born again (at age 29!) and started reading the bible, I began to study the concept of "in Jesus' Name", and found that the word 'name' in the Greek means "name", but with a connotation of authority and power. It was who He was that mattered, more than the word Jesus itself. When I come to the Father in Jesus' Name, I come in His power and authority. Jesus has many Names, and all the meanings of them together make up His Name. This is a powerful study, and I encourage you to dig into it! "It's not the handle, but the substance of His Name that makes it great". I LOVE the name Jesus, which does have powerful meaning (look it up in the Greek!). Also, Prince of Peace, Savior, King of Kings, and so many more. "Your Name" is not only a song of biblical truth, it is a praise song, and a worship song!
